Welcome!
As a child and family therapist, I have experience working with families to help them work through grief and loss, parenting issues, family reunification and challenges with blending families, and adoption. My work with individuals has allowed me to assist clients with trauma, depression, self-harm and suicide. I particularly enjoy working with children and young adults.
Part of my therapeutic approach is systemic: to examine and explore the individual, their family and community in a culturally appropriate way. Bowen Theory is the framework of my approach to therapy. My method of treatment involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation as well as Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, Brief Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Trauma Focused Therapy. Additionally, I enjoy teaching coping skills and exploring alternative behaviors. The most vital part of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. Therefore, I welcome open dialogue about my approach, treatment and progress (what is working for you or not working for you). It is of the utmost importance that you feel a sense of safety and security during your session. I take pride in walking along side my clients through their struggles and transitions. Together we will find solutions that meet your needs and help move you toward health, balance and harmony.
